Take the Leap

"I met Emily in what can only be described as a most improbable way. With hundreds of Airbnbs in Havana, Cuba, I never expected to cross paths with one of the most sensitive and empathetic people I’ve ever known. Before she left, I had the chance to connect with her, listen to her perspective, and understand the intense emotions she was navigating after such a short time in my country. I felt such empathy with her, and, almost without thinking, I offered her my full support and friendship. I was deeply moved by the way she saw life—her remarkable emotional intelligence and humanity were clear to me. From that point on, our connection remained strong, and we spoke often. Emily is one of those rare people who, once they let you into their heart, you’re there for good.

Some time later, I found myself at a crossroads in my life. I had to make a crucial decision: To leave my homeland, my family, my music, my work, and my roots—to chase a dream. That, or to stay in my comfort zone forever. That’s when I reached out to Emily. I needed someone who understood the value of life and the challenges of change. Many people had told me I was crazy, that my decision to migrate to the other side of the world was too risky, and that the odds of success were slim. But Emily reminded me that she, too, had once faced a similar crossroads and choice. She had chosen the braver path, one that came with hardship, but also immense growth, learning, and triumph. She reassured me that, though the journey would be difficult, it would be more than worth it. With all the support Emily gave me—emotionally, psychologically, and even financially—she believed in me so much that I couldn't help but believe in myself. I became fully convinced that this was the right path. And thanks to Emily, I took the leap.
Here I am today. The road has not been easy—there have been tough moments, and the path is often foggy—but I know this is the way I must go, and I refuse to disappoint her, or myself, now. Thank you so much, Emily."
